Thank you for feeling the pull to step into this circle.

Our first spiral of the year, Roots & Rupture is a three-book journey into memory, lineage, resistance, and the complicated truths of belonging. Across eight live gatherings and two guided workbook sessions per book, we will read slowly, reflect deeply, and make meaning together.

This is not a space for speed or performance. It is a space for presence, listening, and shared remembering.

When we gather — Live Sessions

Our cycle begins with an Opening Circle on:

Saturday, March 21
10:00 AM – 12:00 NN (Philippine time)

We then meet every other Saturday, with a final Closing & Integration Circle on June 20.

All live dates (10:00 AM – 12:00 NN PHT):

  • March 21 — Opening Circle

  • April 4 — Book Circle

  • April 18 — Book Circle

  • May 2 — Book Circle

  • May 16 — Book Circle

  • May 30 — Book Circle

  • June 13 — Book Circle

  • June 20 — Closing & Integration Circle

Note: The Closing Circle on June 20 comes one week after the previous session so we can complete the cycle with intention before the season turns.

All live sessions take place on Zoom.
Your link will be emailed to you before each gathering.

If you are outside the Philippines, please check your local time zone when registering.

How the cycle works

For each book, you will receive:

  • A digital workbook with guided journaling, reflective prompts, and invitations for slow reading.

  • Access to a private WhatsApp group, where you can share reflections, questions, and insights between sessions. You will be added to this group closer to the start date.

Sharing is always optional. The space is held with care, respect, and confidentiality.

Recordings

All live sessions will be recorded.
Recordings will be available to participants for up to three months after the Closing Circle (until September 20).

This is for those who cannot attend live or who wish to revisit the conversations.

What we will read

Participants will read and reflect with three novels:

  • Salt Houses — Hala Alyan

  • In the Time of the Butterflies — Julia Alvarez

  • In the Name of the Trees — Merlinda Bobis

Books are not included in the registration fee.
Please purchase your own copies. If you need help finding or accessing any of the books, you are welcome to reach out and we will assist where possible.

Includes all three book clubs of 2026, early access + voting rights to complete the reading list, and a private integration circle to close the year

This circle is for you if you:

  • feel drawn to stories of ancestry, memory, and belonging

  • sense that history lives in your body in ways you want to understand more deeply

  • are willing to sit with complexity rather than easy answers

  • want to read slowly rather than rush through books

  • long for a thoughtful, heart-centered literary community

You do not need to be an expert reader. Curiosity and openness are enough.

What you will gain

By the end of the cycle, you will have:

  • walked with three powerful works of literature across exile, resistance, and return

  • reflected on your lineage, memory, and relationship to land

  • practiced listening to story, body, and the living world

  • held space for grief, courage, and collective healing

  • clarified what a return to wild means for you in this season of life

More than a book club, this is a journey of remembering.
